Matteo Montani (Roma, 1972) presenta, in questo catalogo, alcune opere della sua più recente produzione, che consistono in grandi olii su carta abrasiva riportati su tela, nelle quali ritrova il blu reale dei suoi esordi e amplia il respiro di quelle visioni celesti attraverso l'uso dell'oro, del bianco e di un blu oltremare profondo. Queste nuove opere trattano il tema dell'occhio e dello sguardo soffermandosi sulla natura sorgiva e peculiare dell'atto del vedere. Matteo Montani (Rome, 1972) presents, in this catalog, some works from his most recent production, which consists of large oils on abrasive paper laid down on canvas, in which he finds the royal blue of his beginning and extends the breath of those celestial visions through the use of gold, white and deep blue. These new works are about the theme of the eye and the gaze lingering on the primitive and peculiar nature of the act of seeing. His abrasive papers seem to hold, like the vitreous humor onto the retina, the flashes of light that becomes an epiphany of a transcendental landscape. The book includes an essay by Eugenio Viola and biographical apparatus.
